Cable Car Systems in Urban Areas

This thesis presents the background and history of cable car systems, focusing on the adoption of these systems in urban areas. It examines the Emirates Air Line in London as an innovative transit mode. Identifying its main components and architectural parts, the thesis represents the design of twisted towers used in London emirate cable cars, explaining the importance and advantages of twisted towers compared to other cases. In addition, the research shall identify challenges faced by the architecture and analysis carried out to implement a suitable and stable design. This study will explore urban transit modes investigating social and cultural issues, this research will comprehensively evaluate newly adopted transport systems by examining the system efficiency and environmental factors using supportive tools and data collection.
