The Walking Memorial
This thesis re-reads the lost identity of the Iraqi people of Basra, changed from the peaceful Babylon era to the ruins and fear of today. It portrays the rich layers of the city’s history as a memorial, a space where imaginary meets reality, using architecture to design a place for memorial in where citizens could reconnect to their city.
