Public Art: A catalyst for change or merely a distraction
This thesis explores the role of public art as an integral part of place-making. Examining the challenges faced by artists today, including funding difficulties, accessibility of working environments and institutional bias, it looks at the efficacy of artworks in the public realm by considering the importance of offering art within a freely accessible stage of exhibition and its impact on the general population.
