Mahellas of Baghdad

This thesis demonstrates a new reading of Baghdad, how geography is more honest than history. It shows a new perspective that challenges the Media’s Image of Baghdad as ruins. It’s a collective memory of the city. It will represent a memory, narrate a memory and interpret the memory of Baghdad during the major challenges the city had faced. It visits a number of sites along the river, both Karkh and Rassafah. It will celebrate Baghdad’s culture. Mapping the concept of 1001 palms, Mapping the Baghdadi House and the main activities that have influenced its design.
