The Third Places and Community Planning in Mumbai, India: The case study of the Koli Community
This study explores the concept of ‘Third Places’, social spaces that lie between home and work, and their importance in maintaining the identity and coherence of communities. The thesis focuses on Mumbai’s koliwadas, indigenous shing communities threatened by development, and explores how a community planning approach could strengthen them.
